Gonda: A significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure in rural Uttar Pradesh was taken with the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Chief Minister Composite School in Gharighat Gram Panchayat under Babhanjot Development Block in the Gaura Assembly constituency of Gonda district.
The ceremony was attended by Kirti Vardhan Singh “Raja Bhaiya”, Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament from Gonda, and Prabhat Kumar Verma, MLA from Gaura, who graced the occasion as chief guests.
The programme began with traditional Vedic rituals and a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony. Addressing a large gathering, Union Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized the transformative role of education in society and described quality education as the foundation of sustainable development.
He said the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments are committed to extending modern and quality educational facilities to every corner of the country. According to him, well-equipped schools with modern infrastructure will help shape the future of students and significantly improve the standard of education in rural areas.
Landmark Project for Students of the Region
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Prabhat Kumar Verma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Gaura Assembly constituency has been witnessing rapid development across multiple sectors. He described the establishment of the Chief Minister Composite School as a historic achievement for students from the region, particularly those living in underserved and rural areas.
The MLA noted that the institution would provide access to modern and quality education closer to home, reducing educational disparities and creating better opportunities for local children.

He also highlighted several welfare and development initiatives being implemented by the Central and State governments, stating that efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society, especially those at the grassroots level.
Expressing confidence in the project’s long-term impact, Verma said the school would lay a strong foundation for the bright future of thousands of children and emerge as a model institution in the region.
Wide Participation from Officials and Residents
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from public representatives, government officials, educators, village leaders, and local residents. Those present expressed gratitude to the Central and State governments for establishing the educational institution in the area.
Among the dignitaries and officials present were the Chief Development Officer, District Development Officer, Deputy Commissioner (MGNREGA), District Inspector of Schools, Deputy Commissioner (Labour and Employment), Basic Education Officer, District Sugarcane Officer, District Supply Officer, Block Development Officer of Babhanjot, District Agriculture Officer, District Disability Welfare Officer, Mandal President Madhup Singh, Arun Prakash Shukla, Ram Chander Verma, District Panchayat Member Brijesh Pratap Narayan Singh, village heads, and several other prominent citizens.
The new Chief Minister Composite School is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding access to quality education and fostering academic excellence among students in the Gaura region, marking another milestone in Gonda’s educational development.
